The new show represents a splitting up of the radio and TV versions of Beyond the Beltway for the duration of Campaign 2010—and continuing through the 2011 city elections.

The Beyond the Beltway nationally focused radio show continues Sunday nights from 6-8pm on WLS 890 --- and will continue to be syndicated to 45 stations as well as carried on Sirius-XM satellite radio.

The weekly local political talk show has brought back its original name - Inside Politics - and its original round-table format and one-on-one candidate and newsmaker interviews.

This move recreates "the experiment" in political programming that began in 1980 on WBEZ-FM/Chicago when Bruce DuMont first launched a weekly high-energy, robust and very spirited and balanced discussion of politics - a format that is has become standard fare on cable television.

Inside Politics also was the first show to introduce political unknowns Rahm Emanuel, Luis Gutierrez, Danny K. Davis, Carol Moseley Braun and Aldermen Dick Mell and Clifford Kelley to local audiences.

Television airtimes

  • Sunday - 10:30 PM, WYCC-TV/Ch. 20, Chicago
  • Monday - 11:00 PM, Comcast Cable/Ch. 100, Suburban Chicago
